The condition of the original pier had deteriorated over time due to some neglect. During high tide, some of the pier was under water but it is still very much evident as a pier and had a chance to be preserved and re-constructed.
The aim of this project was to rebuild the pier to again allow it to become a positive amenity for the local village. The pier will be built back up to allow the surface to be used as an external seating and amenity space on the harbours edge.
The intent is to add to the amenity and character of the village.
To main and enhance the character of village, it is proposed to place a modestly scaled, removable, pre-fabricated retail kiosk pod at the south-eastern / entrance end of the property.
