An inverted living house with the living areas on the upper floor.

The site is located in a developed village setting overlooking Cork harbour and because of the existing dwellings in front of the site, on the sea side, it was decided to put the living accommodation on the upper floor to elevate those spaces above the neighbouring roofs and avail of the spectacular views afforded to it.

The living areas were orientated at 45degrees to the site boundary to allow for direct perpendicular views to the most prominent areas of the harbour.
